A real chasing type, this eight year old has some very classy form to his name in Ireland and looks a ready-made Saturday performer in the UK for the upcoming season and beyond.
A winner over hurdles, he recorded a Racing Post Rating of 140 in that sphere and was rated 137 when finishing in midfield at the Cheltenham Festival in 2023 when last seen over hurdles – the UK handicapper has certainly taken a chance by dropping him to 124 for us when we spoke earlier this week!
He has some strong pieces of form to his name since switching to the larger obstacles, and was sent off at just 10-1 for a highly-competitive Listed handicap chase over Christmas, only to tip up just as he was moving well into the contest.
He would’ve gone very close in a useful novice chase at Fairyhouse but for a last-fence error, but that form reads very well and he ran a smart race in defeat, giving weight away all round, when runner-up on his latest outing in Ireland, just last month.
He came highly recommended by his previous trainer, who feels that he is an ideal type for the UK, and he can go straight into some really nice handicaps, both over hurdles and fences, when starting out for us.
He looks an ideal candidate for races like the Silver Trophy at Chepstow in the autumn and looking further ahead, could be one for the Cheltenham Festival next year in the Martin Pipe, which he would’ve got into with ease this year.
