Mitchell Hunt
Mitchell’s journey into horse racing began during his school years, gaining experience at the yards of Nicky Richards and Barry Murtagh. After graduating from the British Racing School, he spent two seasons with leading National Hunt trainer Jonjo O’Neill at Jackdaws Castle. He then moved to Newmarket to assist James Owen, where he broadened his skills over three seasons, working with a variety of horses, including breakers, point-to-pointers and Arabian racehorses. In 2018, Mitchell joined Royal Ascot-winning trainer Richard Spencer at Sefton Lodge as his assistant. In the autumn of 2020, Mitchell and Lucinda moved to Barford Racing Stables to establish their own training operation, growing in numbers and success over the next three seasons. Mitchell and Lucinda with their team of horses and staff moved to Pant Wilkin Stables to join forces with Tim Vaughan and enjoyed a first successful season together in 2024. You will always find Mitch in the yard in the thick of things, riding out, racing and assisting with the Training.
