A strong, good–moving individual with an eye–catching pedigree, this six–year–old has a high level
of form in his native France and looks a very exciting recruit to the yard.
He finished fourth on his first two starts over hurdles at Auteuil in the autumn, finishing behind
two subsequent Graded performers on the second occasion in the prestigious Prix Marittimo.
Runner–up to the multiple Graded winner Ajas (who was in receipt of 15lbs) at Argentan in
November, his final run in France came when a close third in a competitive novice contest at
Fontainebleau in December.
He has an official rating of 114 in the UK and, given he is still a maiden, we can look forward to an
exciting novice campaign in 2025/26, with the possibility of targeting some valuable handicaps
after he has won his level–weights novice. Looking further ahead, he has considerable scope and
should make up into a classy staying chaser in time.
There should be a huge amount of improvement in him, particularly given the yard he came from
– the trainer has had 96 runners without a winner since 1st January 2024!
The pedigree is littered with black type. The dam is a half–sister to three black–type performers,
including a French Gold Cup third, and three of her siblings have produced Graded horses,
notably Grade 2 Pendil Novices’ Chase winner Tamaroc Du Mathan and Grade 2 winner Amour
Du Mathan.
He had a good break after joining us and has been up and running for the past month. We have
loved what we have seen from him so far and he looks exceptional value at £25,000 + VAT.
