Eva’s Oskar fine after Grand National

We have had such an amazing couple of weeks in the build-up to the Grand National with Eva’s Oskar, and I am delighted to report that he has come out of the race in great shape – he is enjoying a nice, quiet morning in the paddocks.

It’s a case of what might have been, as he was travelling really well and had jumped perfectly throughout, prior to being badly hampered at the 21st fence and leaving Alan no chance of staying in the saddle.  Though there was still a fair way to go, we couldn’t have been happier with how he was going, but hopefully he will get another chance in 2024!

We had most of the team on a minibus up to Aintree to support Eva’s Oskar, and we had a great weekend in Liverpool with his owners Dick and Sally Prince – Dick has always wanted a runner in the National and it has been a great few weeks for them in the lead up to the big race.

Eva’s Oskar will have a good summer break before returning to training in July and hopefully he can find further improvement next season, following what has been a wonderful 2022/23 campaign, which included the Grade 3 success at Cheltenham in December.
