Chepstow hosts the curtain-raiser for the National Hunt season proper this weekend, and it’s a really exciting time of year for us all, with our autumn/winter team nearly ready to start back on the track.
We hope to have a couple of runners over the two-day meeting, and thankfully they are forecast a fair bit of rain in the week ahead, which will certainly help – Eva’s Oskar (pictured) could start off his season in the Native River handicap chase providing the ground is right for him.
We have 30 in the for the season ahead, which is a smaller number that we’ve had in the past, but there are several lovely young prospects amongst them and we hope to have the majority of our team on the track in the next two to three weeks.
There have been plenty of changes at the yard in recent months, not least a brand new access road off the A48, which I’m sure any of you visiting us in future will appreciate!
I look forward to seeing you on the racecourse or at the yard in the near future and fingers crossed for a successful season ahead.
