After a narrow defeat for Number One London over at Uttoxeter, our fortunes for the day changed at Worcester yesterday evening, with Colley Row and Uncle Tone both obliging to give us a double from our only two runners on the card!

Colley Row has not been with us long, but he had been dropped 5lbs for his only previous outing this year and, in what was a very modest contest, he stayed on best of all, hitting the front two out and keeping on well to score under Richard Johnson, who rode a treble on the card to draw 27 winners clear of his nearest pursuer in the race for the jockeys’ title.

Uncle Tone lost a little confidence in a fall on his penultimate start and in hindsight we had him out again too quickly at Uttoxeter last time.  Given a month since and having had plenty of schooling at home, he bounced back to his best to win what was a competitive staying contest, also hitting the front two out and fending off the strong challenge of the eventual runner-up.

Seven year old Ed has become something of a sensation on Twitter in recent days after we posted a video of him schooling over fences at home last week on ex-chaser Grey Cruzene!  If you haven’t yet seen the video, please click here to view!
