It has been a very successful couple of days, with three winners at Worcester on Thursday followed by a double at Newton Abbot on Friday.
Elsafeer got the ball rolling with an impressive win in the 2m novice hurdle. It was just his second start for the yard and he looks a progressive sort whose long-term aim is the E.B.F NH final at Sandown Park on Imperial Cup day, a race worth £40,000 to the winner last season.
Captain Dash and Loco Grande provided us with the second and third legs of the treble at Worcester, the former in very easy fashion under a good ride from Michael Byrne in the conditional jockeys handicap chase on his debut for the yard.
The two wins at Newton Abbot were both very encouraging, with George Woolf stepping up markedly on his previous two efforts over hurdles with a game win in the juvenile novice hurdle, and Irish point winner Jimbill showing an impressive turn of foot to win the bumper in great style on his first run under rules.
