We have had a really good run of things of late and, following the win of Speed Steed at Towcester on Monday we have added three further victories to our tally, with Mrs Peacock getting off the mark for us at the second time of asking at Hereford on Wednesday followed by wins for Caravel (on his debut for the yard) at Taunton and Postmaster (on his hunter chase bow) at Ludlow.
Mrs Peacock was a dual winner in Irish points and, having made her debut for us over 2m4f last month, she benefited greatly from the step up to 2m6f, getting up in the final strides. She looks likely to improve again over further and hopefully there is plenty more to come.
Caravel was a very impressive winner at Taunton on Wednesday under Richard Johnson for owners Oceans Racing and he is likely to head for a valuable handicap hurdle at Aintree’s Grand National meeting next month, where on yesterday’s showing he could well be very competitive indeed.
Postmaster is a real favourite in the yard and we were all delighted to see him win on his hunter chase debut at Ludlow, giving Bradley Gibbs his first winner under rules. Though he was running over a shorter trip than ideal, he was the class act in the field and was given a terrific ride by Bradley, who has made a real impression in point to points this season and is currently in the running for the Welsh Men’s Championship.
