Show’s Over has taken time to find his form this year, but the five year old is still very much a work in progress, so we were delighted to see him get off the mark at Stratford yesterday.

Having run his best race for us to date when not beaten far under Tom O’Brien at the same course last month, he was stepped back up in trip and, sporting a first-time visor, always looked to be travelling that much more comfortably throughout.

Hitting the front three out, he looked a little green once in the lead and, in a driving finish from the last, he just got the better of the eventual runner-up, winning by a nose.

The handicapper shouldn’t put him up too much for that and I am sure Show’s Over will derive plenty of benefit from the win, so he should make a very bold bid to follow up next time.  Congratulations to his owners Brian and Wayne Jones.
