Though it has been a couple of days since our last runner, it has been a hectic week with the Spring sale at Doncaster.

We have bought 14 horses at Doncaster this week of which several were ‘on spec’ purchases, as there looked to be plenty of value about. Those for sale can be seen below. If you might be interested in further information on any of these, please do contact us on 01446 771626.

Horses purchased at Doncaster Sales, 24th-25th May 2011

Kack Handed Price on Application

8yo b g Terimon – Hand Inn Glove (Alflora) Official Rating: 113c/109h

A winner over fences in October, Kack Handed is a really consistent sort who has finished in the first three on 10 of 21 career starts, including when runner-up to a well-handicapped rival on his latest start in April. We will get going with him straight away and he is just the type to do well over the summer.

Petroupetrov Price on Application

8yo br g Ungaro – Harlem (Garde Royale) Official Rating: 105c/90h

Dual winner in 3m handicap chases last April/June. Seemingly lost confidence in a couple of subsequent starts over fences and switched back to hurdles last six starts, placing twice. A gorgeous, hardy-looking type, he goes on any ground and looks handicapped to win over hurdles before returning to chasing.

Qualviro Price on Application

7yo b g Lavirco – French County (Cyborg) Official Rating: 106c/114h (Irish rating)

From a successful jumping family in France and has plenty of good form in Ireland himself, including a win in a good maiden hurdle at Punchestown 18 months ago, and has also placed over fences. Lightly-raced, well-related, looks the part and ready to start with, so potentially very good value!

Stewarts House Price on Application

9yo b g Overbury – Osocool Official Rating: 122c/119h (Irish rating)

A fine, big, old-fashioned chaser, Stewarts House has some high-class form to his name in Ireland, including a win in a £35,000 handicap chase at Punchestown just over a year ago off this mark. He lost his way after that win but he looks a lovely horse and there could be some big prize-money to be won with him if we can turn his fortunes around. He is a very similar type to Grand Lahou, whose form was revived when joining us from Ireland, with two wins in good company and a 2nd at Cheltenham in a very valuable contest last season.

Truckers Benefit Price on Application

6yo b g Beneficial – Lady Jurado (Jurado) Official Rating: N/A

Has been running in Irish points for two year, placing on 7 of 11 starts without getting his head in front. However, his form this year looks much stronger and he was only narrowly defeated on two occasions before being carried out last time. Out of a Irish point winner from the family of Troytown Chase winner Thinking Cap, Truckers Benefit is a brother to Tanks For That, a 140-rated hurdler/chaser.

William Percival Price on Application

5yo b g Presenting – Soy Alegre (Night Shift) Official Rating: 85h

Well-bred son of Presenting and looks a progressive type, with best effort of light career to date when 2nd of 13 on his handicap debut over hurdles earlier this month. Looks sure to pick up races over hurdles this summer and looks every inch the type to make up into a very nice novice handicapper over fences next season.

Privately purchased this week

Saved By John Price on Application

6yo b g Revoque – Lady Appeal (Phardante) Official Rating: 113h (Irish rating)

Irish point winner and has shown some useful form over hurdles, placing on five of seven starts, including when finishing 3rd giving 5lbs to subsequent Grade 3 winner Shop DJ at Cork in December.

He has been running recently and is another who could make his debut for us in the next month. He would be sure to start a warm order in novice hurdles over the summer and looks very capable of progressing into a very useful performer over hurdles this season before going novice chasing.
