Singer and actress Shân Cothi was in this morning to have a look at the new Tim Vaughan Racing Club horses in action on the gallops.

Shân, along with rugby stars Stephen Jones and Simon Easterby, has been kind enough to join the Club as a patron for the 2011/12 season, and it was a pleasure to have her along. She is clearly missing riding out, as she has suggested preparing another charity race in the near future!

I am looking to get 20-25 people to join in what promises to be an exciting first year. We will have 5-8 horses in training, including a couple of really nice ones and some fun types for the summer and autumn, and there will be plenty of social events throughout the year, the cost of which is included in the membership fee. Shares cost £4,750 for the year – if you are interested in hearing a little more, please call us on 01446 771 626.

I am very pleased with the way the horses are going at home and though the winners have not been flowing quite as regularly as had been the case at the beginning of the month, they seem happy and healthy and I am sure it is only a matter of time before we start firing in the winners again! Pictured above is My Moment (Ross Coleman nearside, making a first appearance on the blog having finally consented to wear a top with sleeves!), upsides Kack Handed (Bradley Gibbs). Both horses are relatively new to the yard but are coming along very nicely, as are Stewarts House (Evan David) and Bahr Nothing (Alex Lopushansky), pictured left.

It is a very exciting time of the year, as we have now started to bring in many of the winter horses from their summer holidays. I have commented before on how much stronger our team for the winter months appears to be this season, and I am really looking forward to getting them started back in training.
