Opera singer and presenter Shan Cothi was in this morning to ride out for the first time since being given the green light earlier this week to take part in the St Patrick’s Derby at Cheltenham on the Thursday of Festival week in March, run in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Shan has taken part in two charity races in the past (Ffos Las and Ascot) and it is fantastic that she has been selected for the race – now we just have to find the perfect horse for her! Details of how to sponsor Shan will be posted on the blog at the beginning of next week.

Owners Steve Clarke and Dom Wallis (who combined form the Double Trouble partnership) were in this morning to discuss the possibility of running Stewarts House in the Grand National at Aintree in April. He has been a fantastic addition to the yard this season, winning at Newton Abbot and finishing second at Cheltenham before success in the Grand Sefton (pictured left), and at this stage we are certainly in favour of at least putting him in at the entry stage on January 31st.
