A maiden on the flat for his previous connections, Rasasee had nonetheless shown a good amount of ability prior to embarking on a hurdling career, and following placed efforts on his previous two starts, he showed an excellent attitude to get off the mark at Market Rasen yesterday.
Despite there being only three runners, the eventual runner-up set a strong pace and Rasasee was held up in last. His jumping was good in the main and, though he did make a couple of mistakes late in the race, including a slow jump at the last, by then he had the measure of his two rivals and stayed on strongly to score.
He likes a sound surface and we will keep him on the go now, as there should be plenty more to come. He’ll stick to novice company for the time being, and hopefully we can find another good opportunity for him in the coming weeks. Congratulations to his owner Robert Kirkland!
