I was delighted to have been invited to sponsor a race in Jersey recently and, having gone over for the weekend with my wife Abbi and owners Steve and Diane Clarke, I had a very enjoyable and informative couple of days other there. They race regularly during the summer and, though we unfortunately didn’t have any runners on the card, I was very impressed with the whole setup and I’m sure I will take a couple of horses over at some point in the future!

The Tim Vaughan Racing Handicap Hurdle was the only hurdle race on a card that featured four flat races including the Jersey Guineas and, with some fantastic evening entertainment, including a gala dinner, it was a very worthwhile first visit.

I believe the feature will be aired at 11.30am tomorrow morning, billed “Richard Hoiles offers a fascinating view into Britain’s most southerly racecourse for the Goodwood-sponsored Jersey Guineas meeting”. DVD copies will be available but if you are able to watch tomorrow morning I am sure it will be well worth it!
