We were very pleased with Dalaman‘s debut run at Exeter yesterday, where he finished third in the concluding bumper, the first opportunity of the season for three year olds to run in that sphere.

It is a race that has produced some good winners in recent years and this year’s renewal again looked very competitive on paper.  Held up in the early stages, Dalaman was a little green and didn’t have a clear run entering the straight, having to be switched out wide by Richard Johnson over a furlong from home.  He picked up strongly once the penny dropped, just failing to reel in the front pair and it was a very promising debut from the half-brother to Hawkhill.

We have three runners today; Benability (1.55pm Fontwell Park), Tanit River (3.25 Worcester) and Essteepee (5.35 Worcester).
