Our Island ran some terrific races in defeat last season, finishing 2nd in the Tommy Whittle at Haydock Park,  6th in the Welsh National, and a creditable 8th in the National Hunt Chase at the Festival on unsuitably fast ground.

Off since pulling up in the Scottish Grand National in April and making his debut for owners Oceans Racing, I was delighted to see him win at Kelso yesterday under Richie Killoran, who was riding a second winner for us in three days following the success of Alborz at Uttoxeter on Thursday.

Though the performance itself was perhaps not a vintage one, the important thing was to see him get his head in front and I am certain he will come on plenty for the run.  At this stage, I have no specific plans for him, and ideally we will look to win another novice chase before then deciding whether to step him up in grade.
