Though we came home without a winner yesterday, there were some very good performances in defeat, including in both divisions of the 2m1f novice hurdle at Taunton.

Createur, purchased from France late last year, was a useful performer on the flat and he had been showing plenty of speed in his work at home prior to yesterday’s hurdling debut.  Though keen in the early stages and a little novicey at some of his hurdles, he came into the race travelling strongly and found only one good.  He looks capable of plenty of improvement and should be capable of winning his novice hurdle next time.

Time And Again has a progressive profile and he ran the best race of his short career to date when finishing runner-up in the second division, again coming with a challenge at the second last but failing to reel in the winner.  He showed a really good attitude and we may look to step him up in trip next time.

Dubh Eile has just taken time to find her feet over hurdles and yesterday’s handicap bow at Southwell was a definite improvement, as she ran on late to finish fifth in the 2m4f handicap hurdle. Out of a classy mare at 2m4f+, we may well look to try her over 3m next time, as stamina looks to be her forte.

Our only runner today is Gracie B in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at Wetherby (3.30pm).
