Just eight days after his first ever success over hurdles, Makethedifference took a 6lbs penalty and a step up in grade in his stride at Kelso yesterday evening, winning his second race over timber in the feature handicap hurdle under Michael Byrne.

Held up in the early stages, he was brought with a well-timed challenge and, hitting the front at the second last, he kept on strongly to win what was a valuable prize, with over £9,700 to the winner.

He is absolutely thriving at present and I hope he can make a very bold bid for hat-trick in the coming weeks!
