2017 bay gelding by Great Pretender (Ire) ex Hatton Bank (GB) (Flemensfirth (USA))

A really athletic, good-moving and classy individual, this three-year-old is a son of the top-class sire Great Pretender, whose progeny include the likes of Grade 1 winners Benie Des Dieux, Ptit Zig and Great Field.

He is the first foal of a Flemensfirth mare, herself a half-sister to the high-class hurdler/chaser (and dual Grade 2 winner and multiple Grade 1 placed) Royal Shakespeare, as well as to two other useful performers. Encouragingly, her only two half-sisters have produced four winners from seven foals between them, notably the likes of Getaway Gorgeous (runner-up in a Listed bumper last term and second in a Listed hurdle on her latest outing in July) and notably Rock The Kasbah, whose nine career successes include Graded contests at Cheltenham and Ascot, as well as seconds in the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown Park and in Grade 2 company over fences to Champion Chase winner Politologue.

The third dam is packed with top-class performers both on the flat and over hurdles, including Grade 1-winning hurdler Tower Bridge, so it is a very high-class page. Flemensfirth adds further strength to the pedigree as a well-established, top-class damsire, including numerous winners at the top level.

He has been broken in and is up and running at home; looks a lovely type with plenty of class and is a youngster with considerable potential.
