Designer Destiny

2014 bay mare by Jeremy (USA) ex Gaye Steel (Ire) (Craigsteel (GB))

An attractive, good-moving six-year-old mare, Designer Destiny has a strong level of form to her name and looks a really exciting prospect for mares’ novice hurdles this season.

Runner-up on her sole start in Ireland in December 2018, she was sold for £70,000 and made a good start for her previous connections in May last year, finishing second in a bumper at Bangor, the winner of which has since won over hurdles and now has a rating of 127.

Designer Destiny finished fifth on her hurdling debut at Newbury, but that was a class 2 race that included the likes of Listed winners Silver Forever and Floressa, and Grade 1 runner-up Heaven Help Us, while Vienna Court (third in a Grade 2) was four lengths behind her that day, so it was a very smart piece of form for her first run over timber.

She finished runner-up on her second start over hurdles, but again that form looks really strong, with the winner going on to finish third in Listed hurdle and then runner-up in a Grade 2.

Her excellent sire has a good record with his mares (including Grade 1 winner Jer’s Girl and last year’s smart Listed winner Silver Forever) and Designer Destiny’s form at both Newbury and Uttoxeter last term suggests she could challenge for black type in mares’ novice company in the season ahead, before going chasing in 2021/22.

She has had a good break since being purchased and is now ready to come into training, with a view to starting off on the racecourse in January. Shares are available, so please get in touch for further details.
