Blunder Buss

Blunder Buss (Ire)

2013 bay gelding by Court Cave (Ire) ex Shantou Rose (Ire) (Shantou (USA))

A strong, athletic six year old, Blunder Buss has some strong form to his name over hurdles and looks a potentially very well-handicapped hurdler for the season ahead.

His best piece of form to date came when winning a class 3 handicap hurdle at this time last year, the form of which worked out very well indeed.  He also showed form last term, including when fifth in a £25,000 handicap hurdle at Carlisle in November off a mark of 122, before losing his way later in the campaign.

We purchased a very similar sort from the same yard the year before last, William Money, and he went on to record form of 2111222 for us, rising 21lbs in the process.

Given Blunder Buss is only a six year old, he very much has time on his side and is down to a mark of just 100, so fully 18lbs below his winning mark. That suggests he is a perfect candidate to land a sequence of wins in the season ahead, and his pedigree suggests there is even a chance he could improve past that mark in due course, being out of a half-sister to the high-class staying chaser Cannington Brook (RPR155).

A summer at grass has done him the world of good and he is now due to come into training, with a view to starting out on the racecourse in early November.  The fact that he can start out in the bottom grade is a huge bonus and he is just the type that we have excelled with in the past.  At £19,500 + VAT (includes all sales costs, commission and transport), he is excellent value for one that could be a prolific winner this term.
