2011 bay mare by Kayf Tara ex Aranga (Supreme Leader)

This six year old mare by the top-class sire Kayf Tara came highly recommended by Richard Johnson, who bred her and whose mother Sue has been in charge of her training career so far.

She has already shown herself to be a model of consistency, her form figures of 34423 in handicaps highlighting both that she has ability and that she can be relied upon to give her running on every visit to the racecourse.

The form of her neck second at Leicester in January looks strong for the grade, and off a mark of just 75 and with improvement highly likely to come given her pedigree, she looks the type to run up a sequence of wins when she returns in the autumn.

Her sister Broome Lane recorded a Racing Post Rating 21lbs higher than that when winning at Chepstow last year, while another sister won twice over hurdles last year, the latest of them off a mark of 110.

Still only a six year old, Staunton looks to have plenty more improvement left in her and is capable of climbing significantly from her mark of 75. She has been turned out in the paddocks but will be back in training at the end of June with a view to starting back on the racecourse in the autumn. After sales costs, she is available for purchase at £10,500 + VAT and looks a surefire winner this season.
