Following the ten-day National Hunt break, I was delighted to see our first runner back, Honey Pound, bounce back to form in style to win at Newton Abbot.

A dual winner last term on his first two starts for us, he was given a hard time by the handicapper for those successes, but with some respite in his mark and freshened up since his last run a month ago, he travelled well throughout yesterday and, picking up the running after three out, he kept on strongly under Alan Johns to gain his third win over hurdles.

Though it was a conditional jockeys’ event, we won’t look to run him under a penalty and he’ll have a quiet week now before we look for his next target at the end of the month.
