Beshabar jumping to victory in the Scottish Grand National

The Grand National weights were revealed in London today and I was really pleased to see Beshabar allotted 10st5lbs, equivalent to a mark of 143.  That puts him 7lbs lower than when a close 5th in the 2011 Hennessy when last seen and I am really excited about his prospects – we just need to get him there now!

We have just started faster work with him and, though he won’t be running before the National, we will most likely look to give him a racecourse gallop or two before the big day.

Saint Are in winning action at Aintree last April

Saint Are has 10st4lbs and, having won at the meeting for the past two seasons, a National would be the perfect way to complete the hat-trick!  He may go to Ascot this weekend for the 3m Listed handicap chase and hopefully he can build on his 4th at Cheltenham last time, though we could do with the ground drying out a little!

Our other National entry, Tartak, has been given 9st10lbs, having come down the handicap this season.  He looks very well at home and is likely to go straight to the Festival now.

Swnymor on the gallops this morning

Exciting juvenile hurdler Swnymor has been given an entry in the Grade 2 Victor Ludorum at Haydock Park on Saturday and we are certainly giving the race serious consideration.  I have been really pleased with him at home and, if all goes to plan in his work over the next couple of days, it may well suit as his prep run for the Triumph at Cheltenham in March.
