Stratford and Uttoxeter have been the scene of many wins for us in recent seasons and I was delighted to get a winner at both courses this week with our only runner at each track!
Erdeli has really found some consistency in recent months and he gave members of the South Wales Argus Racing Club and the Select Racing syndicate plenty to cheer about on a wet Thursday afternoon with a narrow victory in the selling hurdle at Stratford. He had been taking on much loftier opposition in recent weeks, having contested a Listed handicap and a 0-140, so the drop in grade certainly worked the oracle! Surprisingly there was no bid for him at the subsequent auction so he will be out again soon in a similiar grade – he can win again.
Gallox Bridge is a horse we think quite a bit of and he registered his second win in two starts since joining us in the summer in a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter, this time over 2m5f having won there over 2m a fortnight ago. There is still room for improvement as regards his jumping but he certainly has an engine and a very wlling attitude, both attributes likely to hold him in good stead when he steps up in class in handicap company next time out.
A quite weekend ahead, with just two runners at Ascot this afternoon and one at Huntingdon tomorrow, though we have plenty entered for the week ahead as we bid to continue the excellent recent run of form we are currently enjoying!
