First Fandango has returned to form with a vengeance this term and, following his wide-margin win over fences at Ludlow on his reappearance last month, he followed up back over hurdles off a 16lbs higher mark at Musselburgh yesterday.

Racing off a mark of 135 over hurdles for the first time since winning at Leicester three years ago, First Fandango proved he is right back to his best, showing a really good attitude to repel the runner-up Capellanus, the pair 18 lengths clear of the third in what was a competitive and valuable handicap hurdle.

He will find life tougher off his new mark but hopefully can go very close in his hat-trick bid next time!
