IMG_0280 (1)Having got off the mark over fences at Musselburgh in January, Fields Of Glory went to Market Rasen full of confidence and duly followed up in great style under Richard Johnson.

Settled in behind the early leader, he jumped well throughout and, taking up the running just after halfway, he found plenty of reserves to see off a brief challenge up the home straight, eventually drawing clear to win by seven lengths.

It was a deserved change of fortune for owner Dave Pearn after Theligny had failed to run his race at Haydock on Saturday (he has come out of that fine), and with Fields Of Glory continuing to go the right way, he should make a very bold bid to record the hat-trick next time.

We may well have had a double but for a heavy fall at the second-last for The Mythologist, but I am glad to report that both he and Richard Johnson got up unscathed.
