A month after a taking success at Taunton on just his second start over hurdles, Fayette County doubled his tally over obstacles by just a short head at Chepstow yesterday.

Having raced enthusiastically in the early stages, he travelled well into the straight and, heading to the last, looked to be getting the better of his sole challenger.  However, that rival pushed him all the way and Dougie Costello needed to be at his strongest to get Fayette County up on the line.

It was another very pleasing display in what looked a competitive race and he is likely to have one more run over hurdles this term before going novice chasing in the autumn.
