IMG_1292A really likeable four year old, Dusky Raider had shown promise on a couple of occasions already over hurdles and he built on that with a ready win at Uttoxeter yesterday.

With Alan Johns absent through injury (thankfully he is firmly on the mend after a fall at Huntingdon last week), George Blackwell will have plenty of opportunities and he gave Dusky Raider a very well-judged ride, settling Dusky Raider in mid-division, making headway up the home straight to challenge at the second-last and keeping on well from the last to win by three lengths.

A dual winner over 1m6f on the flat, he looks sure to appreciate stepping up further in trip and he looks open to plenty of improvement, so hopefully he can make a very bold bid to follow up this win on his next outing.  Congratulations to his owners Terry Edgell and Remo Vernaschi, who were celebrating their first winner!
