The horses continue in great form at present and, following an across-the-card treble on Sunday, we were treated to a double from just the two runners on Thursday, with Makhzoon winning at Perth and Postmaster at Folkestone.

Makhzoon had not really taken to chasing on his last couple of starts but he is a capable hurdler on his day and he benefitted from the drop to claiming level for the first time, taking up the running entering the home straight and keeping on well. He was subsequently claimed, but was a good, fun horse for his owners, winning four times in recent seasons.

Postmaster is a real favourite in the yard and he won his second hunter chase of the year, this time at Folkestone under Matthew Barber, deputising for the suspended Bradley Gibbs. He was never really out of second gear and, though he will face a much stiffer test, he will now go for the 3m4f, £25,000 Champion Foxhunters at Stratford on Friday 1st June.
