Jimbill jumping to victory under Richard Johnson

We sent three runners to Stratford yesterday and I was delighted with the performances of all three.

Jimbill is a horse we have always liked and, with things not having gone to plan with him last term, it was a relief to see him make such a promising reappearance, jumping well to land the 2m4f novice chase in great style.  Richard Johnson was very pleased with him and, though we will keep it low key for the time being, I hope he can go on to better things this season.

Fairwood Massini has been a revelation this term and he recorded his fourth win already this season with a ready success in the handicap chase off a mark of 115, 16lbs higher than his first win this term.  Michael Byrne has struck up a really good relationship with him and the could yet be more to come.

I was also very pleased with the effort of Hawkhill, who bounced back to form after a quiet reappearance when finishing second in the feature handicap hurdle.  A very progressive sort last season, he could yet prove capable of defying his current mark in the coming months.
