We sent up two horses to Perth and I was delighted to see both get their heads in front!

Fairwood Massini had won on his second start for us, over fences at Ffos Las in June.  Given a chance by the handicapper after finishing 4th over 3m at Perth on his previous start, he looked to appreciate the drop in trip and grade, making all to win under a good ride from Michael Byrne.

Michael is enjoying a really good season so far and he brought up the double, his eight winner of the season so far, on Terfel’s Toscar in the concluding handicap chase.  A nice, scopey son of Oscar, he has had a few niggles since joining us earlier in the year but he had the ability to win off his mark and it was very pleasing to see everything come together for him, jumping nicely and taking up the running four out, keeping on well.  Now that he has got his head in front I hope he can follow up.
