DadsintroubleFollowing on from the recent successes of store purchases Belize, Champagne Chaser, Debece, Fields Of Glory, it was the turn of the six year old Dadsintrouble yesterday, as he got off the mark on his handicap debut in the 2m handicap hurdle at Wincanton.

The Paul Bowtell-owned son of Presenting had been off since running an encouraging race at Kempton Park last May, but he is a late-developing sort and the time has clearly done him plenty of good, as he looked a different proposition on yesterday’s reappearance.

Racing prominently throughout under Alan Johns, he was very green when brought through to lead between the final two flights, but kept on really well to the line to win by two and a half lengths.

His dam, Gemini Lucy, was a very smart chaser and Dadsintrouble (pictured in the field this afternoon) looks sure to improve when sent over the larger obstacles, but I would hope he can prove capable of adding another win over hurdles in the coming weeks before he is goes out on his summer break.
