Having shown a really good level of form to finish runner-up on his first two starts of the season in bumpers at Ludlow, Champagne Chaser shed his maiden tag at the fourth time of asking with an impressive display in the bumper at Uttoxeter yesterday afternoon.

Settled in midfield by Richard Johnson,  the pair made their move down the back straight and took up the running turning for home, eventually drawing clear to win by 10 lengths, with a couple of experienced ex-pointers filling the places.

He handled the soft ground very well and, having now had his four runs in bumpers, we look forward to sending him novice hurdling in the coming weeks.
