IMG_5668We have had several promising youngsters get off the mark in recent weeks and I was delighted to see Bleu Et Noir become the latest of them, making all the running to win in novice company at Sedgefield yesterday under Alan Johns, for whom it was a third winner from his last four rides after a double at Kempton Park on Monday.

Bleu Et Noir (pictured right, having a stroll this morning) is a keen-going sort and was soon racing exuberantly in a clear lead, but he jumped very fluently in front and Alan just managed to save a bit for the final couple of flights, ensuring the pair came home in front.

He remains capable of further improvement, especially as he learns to settle better, and we’ll try him in another novice in the coming weeks.  Congratulations to his owner Alan Peterson!
