Bleu Et Noir is a progressive young five year old and, following a breakthrough win at Sedgefield on his previous outing last month, he improved further to follow up that win in great style at Stratford yesterday.
Once again racing exuberantly in front under Alan Johns, he hurdled fluently throughout and was still three lengths ahead on the home turn, at which stage his nearest pursuer sadly suffered an injury, leaving him well clear. The winning margin was 28 lengths and it was an excellent performance.
We will wait to see what the handicapper makes of the win before deciding on where he goes next, but there is the option of either a nice handicap off a low weight, or going for a third success in novice company next time.
Congratulations to his owner Alan Peterson!
