PHOTO-2021-04-23-20-09-29It was great to end what has been a very tough season on a winning note, with the ultra-consistent Bells Of Peterboro winning his second race of the year with another battling success under Alan Johns, on this occasion at Chepstow.

The six year old came into the race with form figures of 214122 from his last six starts, but he looked unlikely to add another victory to that record when coming under pressure on the long home bend.  However, he picked up really well under pressure, joining the leaders at the second-last, hitting the front before the final flight and then just doing enough on the run to the line.

There should be plenty more to come from him over staying trips next season and hopefully he can continue to progress for his owners Steve Grys and Mick O’Boyle, who have enjoyed a great time of it this month, having also seen Colonial Empire win in their colours on his bumper debut at Exeter.
