Wincanton winner Be Bop Boru

Be Bop Boru was a useful sort in bumpers last season so, prior to yesterday’s run at Wincanton, his performances over hurdles had left something to be desired.

However, his last run at Taunton was a step in the right direction and, given a chance by the handicapper off an opening mark of 84, he showed he is going the right way with a comfortable success in the 2m handicap hurdle under Richard Johnson.

He holds several entries next week and we may well look to run him back quickly, as he is likely to go up to a mark in the low 90s after that win.  Congratulations to his owners in The Oak Syndicate, many of whom were present at Wincanton yesterday.

Our runner at Lingfield Park, Misirlou, was very green and I am sure he will benefit hugely for the outing.  He will be given a quiet week or two and will come back for another bumper on a more galloping track in mid-April.
