Hawkhill jumps the last to win the Listed hurdle at Kempton Park on Sunday

Hawkhill has been an absolute star this season and he secured his biggest prize to date when giving us a second consecutive win in the Listed novice hurdle at Kempton Park yesterday, following the victory of Elsafeer in the race last year.

Bought for a bargain 10,000gns for owner Royston Smith, Hawkhill has finished in the first three on his last nine starts and has not been out of the first two in his last six!

Second to the very progressive Hi Note at Stratford on his previous start, we were hopeful of a good run yesterday but, giving weight away to some highly-regarded rivals, I was not expecting the performance we were treated to!

He has looked an absolute picture at home of late and has once again come bouncing out of his race, so we will look to have him out again soon, with the possibility of an entry this weekend in the Grade 2 Persian War at Chepstow on Saturday, which will be his last opportunity to run in novice company.
