We sent two really good prospects to on the long journey to Musselburgh yesterday and, though two would’ve been nice, I was delighted to return with a winner!
Alphabetical Order had won well on his debut in an AW bumper at Lingfield in December despite running a little green and, though he looked to face a much tougher task under a big weight in soft ground on just his third career start, he travelled well through the race and quickened very nicely when asked by Richard Johnson.
Given he doesn’t yet look the finished article, it was an exciting performance under a penalty and we will look for a graded bumper for him next.
I was very pleased with the run of Liberty Court, who looked the likely winner entering the straight but made a bad mistake three out and that could well have cost him the race. He is fine this morning and he looks the type to improve with experience, though the best won’t be seen of him until he is sent chasing next season.
