Having won well at Newton Abbot on her previous outing, Dubh Eile faced a stiff task at Aintree yesterday evening, with a 11lbs rise in the weights coupled with significantly stronger opposition and a drop in trip. However, she found further improvement to make light of that rise in the weights, scooting clear from the second last to win in impressive fashion under Richard Johnson, who has made an excellent start to the season and currently sits on 14 winners, 5 clear of his nearest pursuer.

A novice for the season ahead, Dubh Eile is an improving mare and hopefully she can go close in her hat-trick bid next time.

I was really pleased with Lamool’s run, finishing a staying-on third in the handicap chase. He has gone up a lot in the weights since joining us, but continues to run well and hopefully he can land a good prize in the coming months.
