We are currently putting together a full colour Owners brochure for the Owners day next month, and there is still some advertising space available, so if you might be interested in placing an advert for your business please give us a call – the deadline is relatively soon though!
After a flying start to the season, during which we recorded 20 winners in the first seven weeks, we had been enduring a frustrating spell recently, so it was a relief to register a double at Perth on Sunday courtesy of Khorun and Jive Master.
Khorun looked up against it on form in the novice chase but as the rain came down, so did the number of opponents and on ground that he likes, he kept on really gamely to get up near the line. Hopefully he can go in again in novice company.
Jive Master had made quite an impression at Newton Abbot on his debut for us and though the manner of victory at Perth was more hard-fought, it came in a much stronger race and he once again showed a very willing attitude. Unlike Khorun, he was unsuited by the rain-softened ground, but he eventually won quite comfortably under a good ride from Michael Byrne, and he will now go novice hurdling.
All the team went paintballing yesterday afternoon to celebrate Tom David’s 21st birthday. We were joined by jockeys Sam Thomas, Aidan Coleman and Rhys Flint (none of whom were allowed to keep the body protectors they had attempted to smuggle in), and they were all in agreement afterwards that the pain experienced was worse than getting a kicking after a fall!
