It was a case of what might have been on Thursday, with our five runners across two meetings at Exeter and Worcester yielding four seconds and a third!

I was pleased with the reappearance effort of Flying Vic in the 2m6f handicap hurdle and, though it was a shame he couldn’t quite reel in the eventual winner, I was delighted with Qualviro’s run in the 3m beginners’ chase.  Off the track for 18 months, I am sure he will derive plenty of benefit from his reappearance and he looks a nice prospect for his owners Double Trouble Partnership, who enjoyed such a successful time of it last year with Stewarts House.

Over at Worcester, True Blue and Kenaleck both went very close, the former bouncing back to form after pulling up at Perth on unsuitably soft ground on his previous start.
